This Aluminium garage sign features the rare red-and-yellow early version of the Castrol branding
In 1909, Charles Wakefield started using castor oil in the manufacture of his engine lubricants, and the famous brand "Castrol" was born
The red-and-yellow colour scheme used on this plaque was used in company branding in the 1920's and 1930's
Known as the "bow tie" design, this sign features the word "Castrol" across the middle in raised acrylic lettering
Surrounded in yellow and the words "Wakefield" and "Motor Oil", the sign also displays "British Owned" beneath.
The sign is a carefully hand painted & distressed reproduction, with raised embossed lettering and detailing for additional vintage aged effect
Pre-drilled holes make it easy to hang this plaque
With being cast not two are the same all cast signs have casting marks and imperfections which is totally normal and add to that aged look
